Architecture

Iconik is designed by a young and talented Czech and Slovak EDIT! studio. Its leading personalities are Ivan Boroš, Juraj Calaj and Vítězslav Danda. We at KARLÍN GROUP like to work with specialists who stay on top of things, approach creation with humility and bring about new ideas. We believe that you will also appreciate the smartness of Iconik´s design and architecture by EDIT! architects.

House at Island

House at Island

A family house made of sharply burnt bricks on Prague's Imperial Island is a wonderful reminder that a carefully formulated architectural vision can give forgotten objects new meaning. The original guardhouse of the former Austro-Hungarian imperial army stood on the bank of the Vltava canal for many decades completely unnoticed, architects from the EDIT studio! however, they transformed it into luxurious living among the trees.

Houses in Seifertova

Houses in Seifertova

Winston Churchill himself is supervising the ongoing reconstruction and sensitive completion of three apartment buildings in Seifertova Street from the adjacent square of the same name. The superstructures of the houses naturally copy the terraced slope landscape, so typical of Žižkov; in the courtyard, the necessary garage parking spaces, intimate front gardens and social space were created. This is clear evidence that modern housing can be created in the heart of the city.

House on edge of mountains

House on edge of mountains

The building, inspired by the modern character of the homes of the inhabitants of the Alpine or Scandinavian countries, dominates the meadow with a magnificent view of the Krkonoše ridge, but at the same time, thanks to its inconspicuous black colour, it blends in with the surrounding landscape.

Cihlářka Villa

Cihlářka Villa

As part of the project for the reconstruction of a villa in Smíchov, Prague, the architects achieved a unique, contrasting connection between the historic building and the modern extension. The original building retains its character typical of older residential construction, while the new parts are dominated by modern materials and large-format windows. The genius loci of the building is completed by a beautiful garden extension, which conveniently connects the building with the adjacent land.
